Meeting Oncoming Traffic

Three important principles:

1. Always be willing to hold back
2. Make plenty of use of mirrors
3. Plan ahead - look, assess, decide, act

Meeting oncoming traffic can occur in the following situations:

- narrow roads eg country lanes, back roads in town centres
- roads with parked cars
- obstructions such as builders skips, broken down vehicles
